Membership direct debit

Due to the uncertainty around the state lockdown, all membership payments were suspended between 1 – 5 February. Your membership payments will fall into one of two categories.

If you paid your membership before the closure, your next debit will be less a pro rata amount to reflect the 5 day closure. I.e. you won’t be charged for the days that we were closed, so your next payment will be less than usual.

If you were due to pay your membership between 1- 5 February (during the closure), your payment may have come out on Monday, 8 February. This payment will be less than usual to account for the 5 day closure. Your future payments will revert back to your original payment schedule and amount from 15 February onwards.

If you wish to discuss your debit payments please email info@armadale.wa.gov.au.

When will my direct debit recommence?

Direct debits automatically recommenced from Monday, 8 February.

Will I have to pay full membership fees?

Membership fees returned to normal upon reopening.

I don’t feel safe returning to AFAC. Can I suspend my membership?

Please email info@armadale.wa.gov.au where our team can discuss suspension options.

Can I cancel my membership?

We’re sorry to see you go; however, please email info@armadale.wa.gov.au.

COVID-19 Measures

Is it safe to visit AFAC, what measures do you have in place?

As per government requirements, we have a COVID Safe Plan to ensure that we have the correct measures and mitigations in place at our facilities. Our staff have all completed mandatory hygiene training, additional cleaning measures have been implemented across the facility and hand sanitisers are readily available. Masks will no longer be required from Sunday, 14 February.

The centre was deep cleaned during lockdown.

Are there restrictions on how many times a week I can visit?

There are no restrictions on the amount of times you visit us. You can come as many times a week as you like!

Is gym equipment being cleaned after every use?

Staff will clean equipment throughout the day.

We also ask that our members play their part and help maintain cleanliness by using disinfectant wipes to clean equipment before and after use.

What do I need to do differently?

To help maintain social distancing, you’ll notice floor markers have been placed around the centre to assist you in following these measures. Please be kind and courteous of your fellow members and staff.

To comply with contract tracing restrictions, visitors are reminded to scan into group fitness, gym and aquatics areas by using their membership band or fob. Casual entry will be required to provide contact details to reception upon purchase of an entry pass. The SafeWA QR code will also be available around the facility to scan in.

What group fitness classes are back on?

Our group fitness classes are back up and running from Sunday, 14 February. A revised timetable allows for short cleaning breaks in between classes that require the use of equipment.

Will you still offer virtual classes?

What do I need to bring with me?

Swim School

When will lessons recommence?

Swim school will recommence on Monday, 15 February and our Swim School team can’t wait to make a splash with you.

What happens to my Swim School direct debit?

Swim School memberships pay fortnightly in advance for two lessons (e.g. $15 per lesson x 2 = $30). Swim School members who paid their membership on 25th January will be debited again on Monday 8th. You will receive a credit in arrears for the week 1 – 7 February. Therefore if your payment is $30 and it is due on Monday 8th, your new payment will be $15. When you are debited again on 22 February, you will receive a credit of $15 in arrears for the closure during 8 – 14 February.

If your debit was due to fall on 1 February, your payment for this period has been cancelled, and you will be charged as normal on 15 February.

Can I keep my Swim School membership suspended?

Not quite ready to dive back into Swim School? That’s okay, memberships can be suspended for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 4 weeks. A $5.00 fee will apply to each suspended week, which will allow us to hold your place in our Swim School.

Has my enrolment changed since the closure of Swim School?

No, your original lesson day and time will still apply. If there are any changes to your regular lesson slot, you’ll be contacted by a Swim School team member.

My usual lesson day and time is no longer suitable, can I change it?

We understand that your schedule may have changed. We recommend submitting any changes before Swim School recommences to avoid missing out on your preferred lesson day and time.

My child was close to passing their current level before the centre closure; will they be reassessed?

After having a short break, it’s important for us to understand where each student is at with their Swim School journey. All students will be assessed shortly after we recommence lessons.

How will you make sure that equipment is safe to use during lessons?

The health and safety of our staff and community remains our top priority. All of the equipment used in lessons will be thoroughly cleaned throughout the day to ensure that high levels of hygiene are maintained.

Can I cancel my Swim School membership?

We’d be sad to see you go as a Swim School member. Please email info@armadale.wa.gov.au if you wish to cancel your membership.
